A very special beautiful and
elegant young lady in all her wedding finery, complete with jewellery. You
will create a magnificently detailed and elaborate ivory silk bustled
dress with gorgeous ivory and gold silk brocade jacket. This costume
is my own design and is based on dresses held in the Victoria and Albert
Museum costume collection. It will be trimmed with yards of
pleated silk and lace, delicate silk buds and bows trim, and finished with
a veil of cobweb fine silk net. You can either make a headdress of
silk ribbon roses, or a fine filigree tiara studded with jewels. This is
an exquisite doll which will take pride of place in your doll’s house. |

Halloween Special...... the bewitching month!
Goblins and ghoulies and long legged beasties and things that go BUMP in the night.....wooohhooooo
Our doll project for October is a Halloween witch, a wrinkled old hag with hooked nose and toothless grin. She has a scrawny full torso body, wrinkled, claw-like hands and pointy-toed witchy boots. She has decided to dress up in her witchy best for Halloween. It is a little known fact that witches do like
raunchy underwear so she sports red knee-length bloomers and red petticoat and you can give her painted stripy stockings as a further concession to femininity. Her plain black dress has lined hanging sleeves and is set off by a magnificent contrast-lined silk cloak with silver buckle fastening. As a sign of her craft she proudly wears a rather battered pointy hat, which has been passed down to her from her great-great-great-great grandmother and inside which she has been known to stow away her sandwiches before embarking on a long broomstick ride.
Everything you need is included in the pack: Doll kit, pipecleaners, wadding and instructions, all fabrics for underwear, dress, cloak and hat. Silver fastening for cloak
Silvery viscose for wig.

We
used brand new character moulds with fully moveable heads for this stylishly elegant older
lady . She has a wonderfully expressive face and is dressed in a
graceful, high-necked silk dress, elaborately trimmed with lace and silk
ribbons. Students had the choice of white or silvery grey hair to create
her flattering wig which will be topped by a spectacularly dramatic silk
hat festooned with silk ribbons, gathered lace and plumed feathers. A
silver lorgnette and reticule complete her costume. There was a
choice of two different character dolls and also different costume
colours.
In
the photos the doll dressed in black is called Myrtle. The doll
dressed in pale grey/blue
is called Gertrude. |

"Elaborate Jumeau-style Girl"

Exquisitely delicate antique reproduction girl doll in the style of the French Poupées of the 1890’s, famously epitomised by Jumeau. She is elegantly dressed in her ‘Sunday Best’ - delicate lace trimmed silk underwear, pleated silk and lace drop-waisted dress with elaborately trimmed bustled jacket. An elaborate, pleated silk and lace bonnet completes her ensemble. Finishing touches include fine silk knit or lace stockings, and matching dainty rosette trimmed silk slippers with leather soles. Colours & doll may vary from the photo.

An antidote to the
ubiquitous man in a bright red suit, shiny boots and stick-on beard! Our
old world Santa is based on the German Saint Nicholas, and wears a
fur-trimmed long, hooded coat, edged with red or green and gold trim. He
also carries a toy sack slung over his shoulder.
We have chosen one of our
character dolls whose face is just perfect. White hair and long curly
beard complete his appearance.
