I have been a keen miniatures enthusiast for over 20 years and first started making miniature porcelain dolls in 1990. When I first began there were few books and no classes specialising in miniature dollmaking so I have had to develop my own techniques for
dollmaking, dressing and miniature wigmaking.
I was a founder member of the Kent Miniaturists club and for 10 years was responsible for the organisation of club workshops covering all aspects of miniature making.
At one time I had over a dozen houses, shops and room settings, mainly built from kits or from scratch but I am now in 'recovery' and concentrating on my very special toy shop
J
I now specialise in dollmaking and teaching. My dolls range from authentic
reproduction miniature dolls based on well know originals by such famous dollmakers as Bru, Jumeau and Kestner, through to the best of today's
unusual character dolls.
All human (and not so human!) life is here, so
whether you need a bosomy, slim-waisted barmaid, or a pot-bellied,
beer-swilling customer, a laughing, happy toddler or a crying, snivelling
child, a kindly Pickwickian grandfather or a curmudgeonly, supercilious
great-aunt, I am sure to have a porcelain doll to suit.
My dolls go to collectors all around the world and I have now taught hundreds of students in the fine art of doll making and dressing.
