About the Artist
I was born in Scotland and my interest in miniatures was kindled on my 8th birthday when I was given a wonderful doll's house made specially for me by my grandfather.
Many years later, after the birth of my daughter, I re-discovered my fascination with little things, and embarked on my first grown-up doll's house.
I have been a keen miniatures enthusiast for over 25 years and started making miniature porcelain dolls in 1990.
When I first began there were very few books and no classes specialising in miniature dollmaking so I have had to develop my own techniques for dollmaking, dressing and miniature wigmaking.
I was a founder member of the Kent Miniaturists club and for 10 years was responsible for the organisation of club workshops covering all aspects of miniature making.
Over the past 25 years my hobby has evolved into a business, and I work full-time as a porcelain dollmaker, now primarily concentrating on my miniature passions, which are vintage dolls and toys for doll's house children.
